Probiotics May Prevent Obesity

Probiotics are dietary supplements that contain live microorganisms (bacteria or yeast) that have been shown to help maintain a healthy balance of bacteria in the digestive tract. This is especially important because nearly three-quarters of your immune system is located in your digestive tract, so when that balance is upset, your health may suffer as a result.

Consume fruits and vegetables which form a low fat diet. Monitor the amount of fat content in your diet and prepare a chart accordingly. Take only as much as required to your body, nothing in excess. Intake of salt should be reduced in order to bring down high blood cholesterol and high blood pressure. Eat high fiber foods daily. Reduce intake of saturated fats and cholesterol from your diet such as animal sources and palm oil.

A large body of literature shows that processed foods are energy dense foods. A review in 2006 on energy density of various foods found that sweet snacks, i.e., cookies, cakes, pies, ice cream, and chocolate bars, possessed an average energy content of 1,500-2,000 kJ each 100 g, whereas savoury foods, i.e., potato chips, had an energy density of about 2,200 kJ and even in a ”low fat” form were found to have an energy density of about 2,000 kJ each 100 g. In contrast, fruits and vegetables contain average energy densities of less than 100 kJ each 100 g.

This vast internal ecosystem, otherwise known as our human intestinal flora, dramatically influences every individual’s personal state of health and well being. This includes our physical and mental health, our metabolism, and quite possibly, our life span. It also performs a vast number of necessary tasks for maintaining high energy levels, proper immune function and counteracts cancer causing compounds in the colon.

When food, especially food that contains carbohydrates, sugars and starches, is left on the teeth after eating, the bacteria that normally live in the mouth thrive on these foods and begin to colonize the tooth surface. Some tooth surfaces are very hard to reach by mechanical means such as the tooth brush. In these areas microbes can accumulate and multiply unhindered.

Avoid using antibiotics without your doctor’s prescription. This can be really dangerous for you. Without your doctor’s guidance, there is a bigger chance that you may screw up the use of antibiotic, thereby killing the good bacteria in your body. As mentioned above, there is a delicate balance between the yeast and bacteria in our body. Killing off the helpful bacteria in your body will get you infected with yeast in most cases.

To help maintain healthy blood sugar levels, our bodies produce insulin. When the body is insulin resistant, the cells are unable to regulate blood glucose levels, causing fatigue. People who are overweight, and those who regularly consume sugary and fatty foods and drinks, can potentially be at risk for developing a resistance to insulin. This resistance results in an increased amount of insulin in the blood, which can cause diabetes.

Well firstly it’s important to note that the problem is at a deep level, a fundamental problem locked in the hormonal and lymphatic system. To put it simply women with “Lower Body” Obesity have too much of the wrong type of estrogen, are full of toxins and more than likely have a less than optimally functioning liver.

An overweight horse or a horse with a large body but small feet will tend to have trouble with hoof flares because of the excess weight that has to be carried over such a small area. In a barefoot horse, the overtaxed laminae weaken and stretch, causing flares. Dieting and increased exercise are the obvious answers for the overweight horse but the small-footed horse will have to be managed with greater care.
